GPS Summit

yesterday was the GPS summit, and i thought i would just write a few things that struck me, and i'm hoping that a few of you will do the same.

first, i have to say, that it was an amazing service. i thought the music was great with some really powerful lyrics, tommy's, my dad's, and pastor dave's talks were all really inspiring, but the thing that struck me most, is this question that's now weighing on my mind...."now what?"

we were told about these two people groups that haven't been reached with the gospel yet (2 among hundreds). one of the people groups (the huichol) doesn't even have 2/3 of the bible in their own language. that's so crazy to me. they can't sit down and read isaiah 53:4-6, or psalm 23:4, or even the story of God's creation at the beginning of genesis. imagine not knowing anything about creation....imagine how confused and lost we would be without some knowledge of that account.
and the other people group (the sikh), alhough they have a bible in their language, has no knowledge of jesus and the incredible price that was paid on the cross and empty tomb. yet, they live all around us...neighbors, friends, co-workers.

so, the question is...now what? pastor dave used a very powerful metaphor yesterday during his talk when he spoke about the two newspaper articles he read about. if we knew we could help those people, and had an opportunity, would we take it. the answer is...of course we would. we would do everything possible to save the people in those two articles from dying. but why don't we act that way with those around us?

now what? any thoughts?
